Cars History
Cars Collision Centers opened their first auto body collision repair facility in June, 1998 in Chicago, Illinois. Auto Magicians LLC (as it was then known) purchased two other shops before the end of 1998, North Rand Auto Body in Palatine and Amwood Auto Body in South Holland, Illinois. Since that time, the company has grown to 28 Collision Repair facilities with shops in Northwest Indiana (8), Colorado (Denver, Colorado Springs and Pueblo West) and Northeastern Illinois (14 in the Metropolitan Chicago market. Cars Collision Centers employees over 450 people with annual sales exceeding 70 million dollars each year since 2006.

The Cars Collision business model is built around customer satisfaction and quality auto body repairs performed in a timely manner with an emphasis on communication and business integrity.

The Auto Body Collision Repair industry is undergoing many changes. Since 1998, the industry has continually lost volume due to fewer claims being reported as losses to insurance companies. People are driving fewer miles due to rising gas prices. The well documented problems of the auto industry and the economy have made the Collision Repair Industry a challenging proposition for Multiple Shop Owners (MSO’s) and Mom & Pop alike.

Technology and Engineering in the automotive industry is making Collision Repair and Auto Body Repair more complicated than it has ever been. The use of high strength steel and airbags has complicated the repair process. Equipment and knowledge come at a premium when opening a repair facility or maintaining current shops. Organizations not willing to invest in Continuing Education (CE) or state of the art equipment are finding it increasingly difficult to compete in this rapidly changing market.

Cars Collision Center is on the cutting edge of the Collision Repair industry. Internal Continuing Education for all Body Technicians is required, tracked and measured to assure that repairs are completed with state of the art techniques communicated by OEM’s and industry leading organizations including I-CAR and Tech Core.

2009 marks the tenth year of business in the Auto Body Repair business for Cars Collision Center. Regardless of all the changes in the Collision Repair industry, Cars Collision remains a leader and has realized growth each year. Partnerships and Direct Repair Relationships with many of the Insurance Industries most respected companies have been earned over the past ten years.
